The Herb Garden at Erasmus Darwin Museum in Lichfield has a history of producing Level 5, Outstanding Awards in the last five years of the IYN presentations, a subcategory of the RHS Britain in Bloom organisation. In addition, this year, the Garden has been awarded the Certificate of Merit for consistent and sustained high gardening standards.
Once a year, one entry is chosen by the judges to reward a Garden in the Heart of England region. The garden volunteers are honoured to have this acknowledgement of their care, time and enthusiasm for the garden.
This award winning garden is free to enter and always open. The garden is also home to a Plant Heritage Historical Collection, ‘Dr. Darwin’s Medicine Chest’. Plants directly referenced to the writings of Dr. Darwin and professional physicians of his time.
