Presented by Dr Charlotte Ball. In the early medieval period, the village of Repton was the setting for dramatic events involving monarchs, murder and marauding Vikings. It was, at various times, a burial ground of kings and a military stronghold. This talk examines the stories two men who were buried at Repton “ a Saint and a Viking “ and looks at what recent archaeology can tell us about our local history and the Viking age.
