SUMMARY:Vikings in the Midlands - 10 week history course
DESCRIPTION:Do you love history? Are you fascinated by the Viking Age? Or maybe you’re just looking to learn something new in 2026! \nThis exploratory and fun history course delves into the thrilling history of the Viking Great Army. We will focus on their famous winter camp in Repton\, as well as who the Vikings were\, what they believed and why they invaded the Midlands kingdom of Mercia in the mid 800s. \nAlong the way\, you’ll be introduced to a range of evidence we have about the Viking Age and our own local connections to it\, including archaeology\, myth and DNA. \nEach week will start with a lecture on a different topic.
