DESCRIPTION:For many centuries the Lichfield Guildhall contained the city’s prison cells\, where offenders spent their time rueing the crime they had committed. Punishments were often brutal\, and at times\, terminal. This illustrated talk by local Lichfield historian Jono Oates describes some of the most infamous crimes in Lichfield’s history\, and tells of how some of the inmates met a very tragic end. From stocks to the gallows\, and from leg irons to burning at the stake\, this talk definitely uncovers the grisly history of Lichfield! \n  \nThe talk lasts an hour and a half\, and tea\, coffee or water will be provided.   Book tickets here \n
