Erasmus’ Evolutionary Environment

January 24 @ 11:00 am - March 26 @ 4:00 pm

This is the first of two exhibitions, the second one will be displayed in May, by the students of South Staffordshire College, Lichfield Campus. It demonstrates the students’ initial research and ideas about Erasmus Darwin’s life and work, especially his thoughts about evolution.

This is part of a Young Roots project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and We Love Lichfield.  We hope to uncover the hidden stories of the museum, which will help shape the final exhibition, therefore, we are currently cataloguing an archive from the origins of the museum being formed, creating an oral history collection of people’s memories of the house and having creative workshops for the local community. We hope everyone who participates gains a sense of pride in and ownership of their local heritage and realise the very important part they contribute to it.
