Weddings at Erasmus Darwin House

Thank you for enquiring about holding your wedding celebrations at Erasmus Darwin House. We aim to make your special day as easy and enjoyable as possible.

At Erasmus Darwin House we can provide a beautiful venue to hold your wedding ceremony as well as your reception.

We have four rooms licensed to hold civil weddings seven days a week and we can accommodate up to 30 people for a wedding ceremony, 30 people maximum for a sit down reception or 40-70 for a buffet depending on arrangements. Please call to discuss your needs.

Your first step to holding a civil wedding is to give notice of intention to marry at your local Register Office.

If your chosen venue for the wedding ceremony is in a different district from where you live, you will have to arrange the wedding dates with the Register Office for the district where the venue is located.

There will be a separate charge for the hire of the Registrar.

A civil ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes; therefore rooms at Erasmus Darwin House are booked on a 3 hourly basis. This allows time for the arrival of your guests, the service, drinks and photography.

Guests are asked to arrive no more than 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony.

The whole of Erasmus Darwin House is accessible to wheelchair users. Please let us know if you are expecting wheelchair users in order that we can have staff on hand to assist if necessary. For more information or to make an appointment to look around the House please call 01543 306260


Rates

To hire the House for a civil ceremony the charge will be £235. This provides 3 hours use of the House and will cover arrival of guests and wedding party, the ceremony, photos and drinks if required.

To hire the House for a reception there is a separate charge of £290. This includes use of the House until 10.30pm.

Please note that the management reserves the right to invoice you after your wedding for any additional time taken beyond that which has already been agreed and paid for.
