Darwin’s Big Birthday Bash

Just under 200 visitors came to celebrate Erasmus Darwin’s 285th birthday on Saturday 1oth December.

With a fully stocked tea room and tombola, two local choir groups delighting volunteers and visitors alike with traditional carols, cake cutting from this year’s Miss Lichfield as well as the support of Lichfield’s Mayoress, Councillor Sheelagh James, and Sheriff Robert Yardley, the House raised nearly £300 for the upkeep of this Georgian gem.

Thank you to all who came to visit to the House and helped with our fundraising efforts. Erasmus Darwin House is an independent Museum and a registered charity.  Our rental and running costs grow each year and our objective is to continually update and improve our Museum to give enjoyment to a wide audience and stay open for longer.

We need your support for our endeavours and to help raise awareness of the amazing Erasmus Darwin.
